You didn't supply the make or model but some panels are pretty cheap compared to a new laptop. Look around.
I'm not a fan of the pressure method.
Hello,
I have an Asus laptop about four years old. About a month ago I noticed some of the pixels toward the side of the screen were consistently black. That group has grown and now two smaller areas have developed on other regions of the screen. All three groups are solid black in color and I can see them on the screen even when my laptop is off.
I read an article on DigitalTrends.com about fixing the issue. I first tried UDPixel, but it had no effect. I'm not sure if it will help to run the program longer. I then tried the "pressure method" on the largest group and when I turned on my laptop that group seemed green/black. Unfortunately, I don't know if that's an improvement or just the opposite!
Should I leave the screen be? Will I likely have to replace it?
Any guidance is much appreciated.
