DEAD HP iPaq 5555 after installing updated firmware

I posted this in the wrong area the first time. I am I will be more help if I repost it here.
I installed HP iPAQ Pocke PC h5500 Series Firmware Update 1.00.18. I printed the instructions first and read it. It installed fine and then it hp screen went blank. Now nothing. I did soft and hard reset. I let the battery drained and then tried to turn it on. It won't even charge.
I sent emails to PocketPC.com and ipaqrepair.com to see if they can fix it. So far, no response.
I had backup the info on the compact flash card 2GB without problems. I tried putting in a new battery and it did turn on but still a blank screen. Any help will be appreciated!
