Question

DDR2 Ram Question

Sep 22, 2017 6:39PM PDT

Hey guys.I currently have 2x2 DDR2 ram making it a total of 4GB.My motherboard has only 2 slots. So what will happen if i remove 1 of those 2gb and put in 4gb in that place.I want to have 6 GB of ram atleast for now. Will it work fine? Also another really important question, can anyone determine if my motherboard can handle a single stick of 4GB ram? It says max of 8GB but i honestly don't know much about computers.Long story short will it be okay to use 1 stick of 2gb and 1 stick of 4gb giving it a total of 6GB. Here's a link to my motherboard:

Thanks a lot!

You only know if you try. The accepted configuration is all sticks are the same size, make and model.

You might be better off turning off all the unneeded stuff you have running.
