I'd use benchmarks. I also stick to the list at http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/Best-Graphics-Card,2033.html
Picking just on the technology used in the RAM seems odd. Why do that?

hi guys ,
I have a PC with the following config
Intel Quad 2 core Q9450 @2.66GHZ
4GB DDR2 RAM
19"wide screen TFT
Intel DQ35JO Motherboard
250 GB * 2 hard disk
Vista business x64
I would like to get a grphics card.I would like to know if it is better to go with 1GB DDR2 memory card (or) 512 MB GDDR3 card?.
I would be playing games and using graphics intensive applications.
