DCR-SX33+IR LAMP

Dec 14, 2010 3:19AM PST

I am planning to buy a Sony camcorder with NITESHOT and add to it, a separate, compatible IR Lamp to boost the NITESHOT function. I was led to believe that a DCR-SX33 has NITESHOT? Can anyone confirm this please and suggest a compatible IR Lamp?

Let me share a little.

I was involved in the design of an early CCTV IR LED flood light. Almost any IR source seems to work so I must ask, why do you think there is a compatibility issue?

Thanks Bob, I am ignorant in such matters. I just wanted to get something that worked and enhanced the NITESHOT capabiliy with a given Sony camera type.

If that is so.

Just about any IR source will do. These are just like light bulbs but in another part of the spectrum. The only complaint is from those that don't get enough illumination or use a spot too narrow or too wide. (just like lighting jobs will have you design)

Nope,
thanks for the advice. I've chosen the above camera. I am interested now in getting an IR lmp to boost the NITESHOT capability. I presume from Bob's thread that any lamp would do?
