DCR - HC 19E PAL - PC cannot read it?

by Gray C / September 16, 2006 6:15 PM PDT

Hi

This is the first time I have attempted to download video through my PC to put on a CD. I have bought an iLINK cable to do this but when I connect and try to capture the camcorder on my PC it just says that it cannot detect the camcorder and connect the camera to the PC using 1394. If it helps the USB stream is ''on'' on the camera.

Is the camera faulty or am I not doing something that I should.

As you gather I am not tecky when it comes to camcorders.

Any help appreciated

USB stream has nothing to do with what you want.
What program are you using to try and capture??
If your computer has Windows Movie Maker, try that.
Connect your cam to your PC with firewire.
Turn on your camcorder to play/edit mode.
Open Movie Maker. Set it to capture.
When it's ready, press play.
