If you subtract a number from a date, you get a new date. Soo if cell A1 contains 2009/04/21 (April 21) =A1-5 gives 2009/04/16. Compare that with the other date.
In the same way, you can subtract dates. If A1 contains 2009/04/21 and B1 contains 2009/04/11 the formula =A1-B1 results in 10. Compare that with 5.
Does this help?
I'm in desperate need of a date range formula.
I have 2 columns, 1 has a date that a claim was noted and and the next has the date the claim was received:
Date Claim Noted Date Claim Received
What i need it to do, (which as far as im aware i need to do as a conditional format) is for the cell under the 'Claim received' column to turn red if its +5 days from the 'Claim noted' date, baring in mind i get claims on different dates.
i have created a formula that seemed to work but only in the top 2 cells, which is '=TODAY()<5' and its been special pasted all the way to the bottom of the spread sheet but still doesnt work.
Can anyone help?
