date and time on photos by s410

Oct 4, 2004 8:09AM PDT

Hi All,

I recently bought a canon s410 digital camera. I really liked the camera and pictures it is taking. But it is missing a feature of printing date and time on the picture. Does anyone know of a software which can get this embedded data and print it on the picture? Freeware would be an ideal choice Happy

Thanks.

I have tried in the past, to find such a program and never found one.

I looked again and I found a couple that say they can do that.

I have not tried them.

Easy JPEG Printer - free:

PixPhotoLab - free 20 day trial - $24 to buy.

If you find one that works well for you, report back through the Forum. This question comes up occasionally.

I looked at these programs and they seem to do it while printing. Even the canon software provided with the camera can put the date while printing. But I want to store the date on the photo while editing and then get it printed from a lab.
These softwares don't change the image.
Any other program???

That would be something that could be done by software, but I have not heard of anyone writing such.
Perhaps no one saw the need.

Of course, you could easily add text to a photo with most photo editing software. Save the modified photo file and you have what you want.

Now if you are saying you want to alter the EXIF info in a .jpg file, I am pretty sure there is software that will do that.

But;

I remember, months ago, someone was trying to find a printing lab that would print the date, using the EXIF info imbedded in the photo. I don't believe he found a lab that would do that.

So if anyone has a solution - let's hear it.
