data useage

I have a iphone 5s and the data usage is huge I feel like things are running but I don't know how to turn them off? and it has trouble picking up and or keeping a wifi signal what can I do? any suggestions would be helpful thanks

It could be a few things...

Have you enable the Wifi to come on when you are at a hot spot so you are not using unnecessary data.

Also got to settings. Hit the cellular tab. Scroll down and you can see which apps are data hogs. You can turn them off for cellular data usage by sliding the green button next to it.

Next, double click the white button. Swipe each app showing in the window up. This will close the app and prevent any updating in the background.

I find my data hogs were maps left open and playing streaming apps (radio). I now close my cellular data if I'm going to be running around. I figure I don't need to look at it anyway while I'm driving.
