You copied the data from the old to the new laptop. And now it's gone from the old. That's strange. Luckily it's still in the new, so you lost nothing. Or do I understand you wrong?

In old laptop, i can not find the data which i transfered to new laptop. But the data which i copied can be seen in new laptop, but can not open. So i wanted to copy from old laptop and again wanted to transfer to new. But, i can not find the folder in old laptop. I am not sure where i went wrong. We tried to reterive using some software. But unsuccessful

Maybe you MOVED in stead of COPIED. After a MOVE the original is gone.

But if it doesn't open now, it wouldn't open after a new copy either. So concentrate on why you can't open it.
- What program did you use to create such a file?
- What is the file type (tell the extension, the part after the last dot, like .pdf or .docx)?
- If you run the same program on your new laptop and use File>Open or whatever it needs to open a file, and browse to the copied file, what happens?
