As LCD displays are more common now, you can visit a best buy and see many in a row. The amount of defects in such displays is rather astounding. Not defective, just defects. Look of the eveness of color purity from corner to corner and you see it everytime. The CRT rules still here. But that would be a bit much for a laptop so we make compromises.
Compare it to other laptops and if you really feel yours is defective, call it in.

I have an Asus laptop (A3N) that I've recently purchased (Dec, 2004). I've noticed that the lower right corner of my screen is darker than other parts of the screen. There are no dead pixels there, but it is darker.
I've read some postings on another website that some similar problems will resolve itself after the screens reaches its operating temperature. Mine screen remains darker in the corner no matter how long it has been on.
Is this a common problem? Does this problem foreshadow other problems ahead? Is there a quick fix for this? Thanks for you help!
