Question

Daisy Chaining routers

Mar 9, 2013 12:48AM PST

I am trying to daisy chain two routers. This is the set up:

Cable modem to Asus WL500g to Asus WL500gP

I have tried connecting the first router to second router LAN to LAN and LAN to WAN but the second router is not showing up on the network.

Does anyone know what I need to do?

Answer
I've never used the WAN port on the next router.

Instead I use the next router as a WAP. Many pages on the internet about that but if you use the WAN port on the next router then it's LAN is not on your LAN.

OK but LAN to LAN is not working either

All I can find online is that I need to change the settings on the second router but until I can get it showing on the network I cannot access it to change the settings

Odd.

I change the settings before I plug it in to the LAN.

I don't duplicate the web on "How to use a router as a WAP" so why not set it up before you add it?
