Daemon tool is dangerous to Window Installer? really?

Jul 25, 2006 12:18AM PDT

Yesterday, in Yahoo Answer forum, a guy was asking
which software can be used to open a bin file;
to help him, a junior member suggested him using Daemon tool; but then a senior member of the same forum opposed that junior member's idea by saying that Daemon Tool could
do harm to Window Installer, and so urged the guy not to use Daemon Tool, but Alcohol 120%.

I have used Daemon tool 3.47 for 2 years in Window XP,
and it has never done anything harmfully to my PC.
So, I doubt what that senior member said was right.

Any idea?

On some computers

Be it Daemon tool or any other program I find most program run fine on the majority of computers. Ever so often you find a case where a program just isn't compatable with the setup a person has on there computer I personally have downloaded programs free and buy types and had problems but not many. I think it just the luck of the draw in most cases. With all the updates and code crossing paths inside this box it's a wounder things work as well as they do.

Look in the Windows forums here and...

You find some members that have seen glitches with both softwares you mentioned. What makes troubleshooting next to impossible is that you may never be told they install these items.

Why would we need such oddball software?

MOD, I have asked the same question in another forum, but the thread was closed immediately after it was posted; coz as the Admin of that forum said, Daemon Tool allowed defeating Copyright.

I'm wondering why my thread
does not get closed in this forum!

Odd.

My bet is that something was revealed such as content downloaded from P2P app or other illicit source. You can review the forum policies as well as know that these forums are not pirate friendly.

Also you didn't answer my question so the discussion dies a quick death.
