D-Link DIR-615 help

by Scorpios777 / January 6, 2014 3:08 AM PST

I need some help, I cannot log in to my D-Link DIR-615 router H/W Versions D1.

I wanted to log in to change the wireless password and now whenever I try to log in with 192.168.0.1 I get a "problem loading page - The connection was reset" message, and I didn't have this problem before.

I am plugged in with an ethernet directly to the router, not trying to do this over wifi.

I have tried to reset it but cant find any exact instructions for this model to do a reset. I held dwon reset for up to 30 seconds with it on and off, and it reboots but still seems to keep the same settings as far as I can tell and still will not let me log into the admin settings.

Any help would be great, thanks

Which browser?

I've seen this happen under a few conditions.

1. The router was not at 192.168.0.1
2. The browser didn't work with the router. Try all the browsers you have.

On item 1, open a command window and do the usual IPCONFIG /ALL to find out if the router handed out an IP and more.

Fritzbox

Evidently he's using a Fritzbox ( isn't that a combo/gateway?) Linked to a D-Link router, I wonder if there might not be a conflict with the firmware(s)...Looks as if he's in Europe, am not familiar at all with their servers, thought you might have a clue.

Many clues but they have to share.

I have used hundreds of routers as a WAP so the reset tells me to use IPCONFIG /ALL to sniff it out.

I am using a Fritzbox as the modem, the D-link is bridged to extend my wireless network. My ISP is quix (I am in Germany.)

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
