Question

D: Drive disappeared, Acer Aspire F15

Mar 16, 2017 4:00PM PDT

Hey guys
Was trying to play some video games saved on my D: Drive earlier and couldn't play them... turned out that they were uninstalled and upon checking I realized that the D: Drive is missing from my laptop, which was there just in the morning.
I have an Acer Aspire F15, Windows 10, 1TB HDD drive internally included (My DHappy and an 128GB SDD.
It recognizes both my C: and E: but not the D:.
I checked in the device manager and Disk management, the control panel and the menu when you press F2 whilst booting up. Tried restarting multiple times, no backups as the laptop is pretty new (4 months).
Took out the D: and plugged it back in, no visible damage on the outside and the connector pieces, no dents, holes, scratches anywhere. Warranty foil is still on and intact (was never a problem)
Tried troubleshooting and didn't come up with anything either.
HDD makes clicking noises ever since it disappeared every time when my laptop is on.
Any additional information needed?
Pictures of the HDD needed?
Thanks in advance!

Click of death?

That's a common sound of a dead drive. As it's under warranty that's your next move.

so what would I do?
I got the laptop in Germany and recently moved to Mexico...
would any official store handling acer laptops take it back and give me a new one or how does it work?
Also not going back to Germany until the summer and considering I use this laptop for school and LAN's I would need a new drive pretty quickly here

Thanks man, I'm really just pissed about my 200GB of games on there haha
seems like I'm better off ordering it online so I'll do that
luckily I didn't restore my laptop yet if the drive is simply dead Shocked
One last question though, is there any possibility at all getting the stored stuff on there anywhere else or is it just lost and done for?
(Internet is bad here and I'd be grateful if I didn't have to re-download 30 games from steam lol)

Only if you had backups IRL

I didn't mean to upset you but folks that move across borders whine about warranties all the time. At least the suspect part is cheap just next door to you.
