Cybertron X-Blade desktop..Good or Bad?

Mar 31, 2005 10:11PM PST

I'm just curious if anyone knows any information on the Cybertron X-Blade desktop, with its AMD Sempron 2800+ processor. From the information I have seen its not a bad starting computer for a tight budget, especially when online gaming is the point of the computer. Any help you can give me or opinions that you think or have heard on this desktop would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It suks. Really suks. i would never get dat.

Go circuitcity or compusa and check out the new emachines t6212. it has 512mb ram and 160 gb hard drive. Faster processor the athlon 64 3200+ so it is good for future 64 bit applications. It also has PCI express x16 slot for newest video card upgrade. If u think the emachine case looks junk or want more drive bays, u can just buy ur own case and switch over all the hardware.

I would suggest just buying the emachines since it is cheap at less than $600 then upgrading the video card to nvidia 6600 gt which cost around $200 or a lower end card such as the radeon x300 or x600 if u cant afford it. I would also suggest upgrading the ram to 1gb. The radeon x300 and x600 would beat the radeon 9200se or fx5200 of cybertron.

I would not get the cybertron xblade. it only has 256 mb, no video card.

The only good one they have would be the one that cost $2000. the others all have crappy video cards.

most of Cybertron's stuff is all for looks, with no power

alright
you seem to be having some issues with power levels of cards, so i'll draw you a picture:

Radeon X600XT = GeForce 6600 (in performance, they are from different makers, same with below)
Radeon X600Pro is slightly less power
X300 is just SAD

i would suggest the X600Pro 256, along with that emachines (As it seems to be a good deal, excusing that it's motherboard, PSU, memory, and cooling are going to suck)

T6212 memory upgrade
Apr 3, 2005 12:14PM PDT

Hey guys,

I just bought the T6212 because it's cheap and yet upgradeable. I want to buy some RAM to get it up to 1024MB's, what kind should/can I get? I had bought a Kingston 512mb module (400mhz PC3200), but when I got home I found a paper in the eMachine box saying I had to install memory modules in pairs of two. The guy at Circuit City stated that was probably just for the first two slots but I didn't want to take a chance. What do you think? (Thinking restocking fee...)

Thanks...

It has 512 MB Dual Channel DDR on board. You would need to buy two 256 sticks of Dual Channel. A 512 stick will make the processor run slow. Circuit City has a pack of two Kingston 256 MB DC DDR for $139 with a $20 Rebate
