Question

Custom Desktop Build

Sep 19, 2014 1:45AM PDT

Hey guys. I'm in the market for a new custom built PC which I'll use mainly for gaming. I've done tons of research and have settled on the config linked below (I think) but want some other opinions before I pull the trigger.

Velocity Micro
I don't have the time or the patience to build my own and Velocity Micro has won enough Editors' Choice awards (including from CNET) to put my mind at ease. Does the part selection look ok? Any suggested changes?

I find many 3rd party builds typical but working setups that do well, provided they are build with attention to care. You will also find many are "tiered" basically having something different from one PC to the next level up. That could be cpu and gpu based or both. Even, if you custom build(select options) you get a decent PC. Since, you're a gamer, I always suggest you have very good cooling involved plus a decent stable PSU to support it all. Now, take it from there, you select what makes you happy. However, don't fall for all the glitz or ge-whiz factors, get the true guts you need to make it happen.

Just for yuks.
Take that parts list to your local pc shop.......see what they can do for you.

Keep in mind that if the machine has a problem in say a month and you had it built local it's just a matter of put it in your car and bring it back.

If you had it built by velocity you get to put it in a box and ship it back.
Then velocity does their thing and ships it back to you.
Sounds good until that system does not work and then it becomes a nightmare.
