Cursor freezes at start up

cursor starting to freeze at start up. about 3 out of 10 start-ups. I have to hold the power button down to shut it down, then I restart it and works, sometimes I have to shut it down twice to get it to work.please help. HP PAVILLION 9700 LAPTOP VISTA ULTIMATE X64 T9300 2.50GHZ INTEL DUO CORE CENTRINO 4.00 GB MEMORY

That's one of th esymptoms of BAD CAPS.

You can google BAD CAPS for the pictures, story and how to inspect the machine for this issue.

Let's hope it's the bad caps and not the Nvidia issue.

I am hoping this is not the infamous dv6000/9000 Nvidia chip issue. You can google that one too.

As another hope, remove the internal wifi card. Sometimes that brings it back.
