Depends upon what you are doing, with what tool, as to whether or not it makes sense to be able to undo.
In Word you can Undo many times, since it remembers all actions you've done since the last save. However in MS Paint you can only undo one level. Some tools, like Internet Explorer don't have an Undo at all - it makes no sense for it there.
Another example: in Windows Explorer you might be able to undo a file deletion, IF your Recycle Bin is set up to move deleted files into it.
Even if it is, if you hold down Shift when you delete a file, (which tells Explorer to really delete the file - NOT move it to the Recycle Bin. So if you Shift+Delete a file, try and see if you can Undo (Ctrl+Z).
Short answer - no, you can't.
Can not get any undo combo to work on my computer. Why? Any suggestions?
I am using Windows XP with SP2 and all the usual. All my other shortcut keys work, why wont ctrl + Z or the undo icon on my toolbar?
Anyone know why this would happen?
