General discussion

CTRL+drag file = copy file. CTRL+SHIFT+drag = link. Move?

When I copy files from C: to a networked drive, explorer copies by default. Is there a key combination I can hold down while I drag the file that will move the file instead of copy it?

To copy a file
Press and hold down the CTRL key while you drag the file to another folder.
To create a shortcut
Press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT while you drag a file to the desktop or a folder.

(NT) Try just SHIFT + drag.

I just Cut and Paste

but if I feel I don't want to lose a file in the transfer process, I will always copy and paste, or drag the file. Then if some error occurs and I lose the copy, I still have the original.
