CTEaxSPl library not registered

Nov 18, 2003 6:45AM PST

Hey All, Exactly every OTHER time I boot my system I get the above error. This is driving me insane. I understand it to be something to do with SB Audigy, ore specifically geared towards some type of "splash screen" that is not needed. How can I get rid of this? I downloaded a program called "runreg" I believe and after removing it the system just hangs on the desktop showing nothing but wallpaper. Luckily I could bring up CTRL+ALT+Delete and run a system restore through MSCONFIG. Can someone help me with this please?

If I read your post in PC Hardware, why did it have more detail than here?

A new finding is that I think an user triggered this issue by accepting a driver from Windows Update. Did you?

Bob

PS. Since you posted in PC Hardware, are you suspicious about failing hardware?

Same Problem "Library Not Registered"
Dec 20, 2004 12:02PM PST

I am getting the exact same problem, but with Windows 2000 running. I have the error message that shows "CTEaxSpl", and "Library Not Registered" pop-up when I restart my computer, and it will refuse to load all the way up, until I restart again. I read this forum and it looks like you said it was an SB Audigy issue? Hmm, if that is true, I am going to head to their website first (I already tried microsoft.com) to see if they have a solution. I have not tried the other method yet of MSConfig, but will try that also.
