Just prior to the problem starting did u install or uninstall SB Audigy??? - sound as though it either hasn't uninstall or installed correctly - also have a look in the "startup" section of msconfig and the cause of the problem maybe in one of the startup programs - its then just a subject of elimination to find which one is the cause - also look in start\programs\startup folder if there are any related programs being loaded there as well
