Whenever posting questions on these forums, please give us as much information as possible about your computer. Depending on your issue, we might need the operating system, processor speed, amount of RAM installed, brand name of the computer, (if there is one), and any EXACT error messages you are receiving, and any other information you think might be helpful. The more information you give us, the better informed our answer will be.

In the meantime, it's possible that you (or someone else who has access to the computer), has changed the sound theme/scheme on the computer. (Your description sounds like it might be the "Jungle Theme" on Windows XP. Try opening the Control Panel, double click on the "Display" icon, then choose the "Themes" tab. (Or possibly the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon in Control Panel, then the "Sounds" tab.) Use the drop down menu to select something more to your choosing.

Hope this helps.
