Creative Zen Vision:M Is it worth $330.00 Dollars?

by MetalHeadBanger / January 25, 2006 3:41 PM PST

Well this ticks me off, because im not really gonna use it for movies, mainly music, but 8Gb for the Micro is too small for me. Ive checked out many Mp3 players for about a month and creative's turn out to be the must realiable and have the most features, I checked out the sleek and others but i cant stand the blue back light and the green/black ones. The Micro would be perfect, but its not big enough for my music collection. The Vision:m is sexy little thing and its the best mp3 player i could find, But i cant just blow a whole check on it. Any thoughts??

Try another brand besides Creative
by Glorybox3737 / January 25, 2006 10:47 PM PST

iRiver H10 doesn't have video and there is also the Toshiba Gigabeat. If you're not going to use the video on the Vision M it makes no sense to buy it. Last generation of mp3 was pretty good. You don't hear many complants about the Gigabeat, perhaps that's because few people have them, so I'd really checkout that player.

Didn't notice

I'm sorry I didn't notice that the gigabeat didn't have fm radio or recording. I just assumed it did because that's what ever wma player puts on thier player. Well atleast now I have a player to recommend to people who don't want all that extra add on stuff. Seeing that iRiver usually makes over priced players maybe you should just spring for the something that's next generation. Check out the Cowon iAudio X5L also.

Since it looks like you deff want a color screen....
by HeroZero / January 26, 2006 12:25 AM PST

you will most likely be paying for video capability on any player you get, it seems to be almost standard on color screen, large capacity players these days. That being said, I would go for the ZVM becasue IMO Creative is one of the best in Sound quality and features for the price. Also, the ZVM is just awesome. I have had the chance to play around with my friend's and it is beautiful, truly- the screen, the feel, everything. I plan on getting one as soon as I can.

Samsung YH-J70

Pity you can't get this in the States? Look at some UK websites for Samsung's YH-J70 and marvel at the features built-in and at a reasonable price (

Buy with a longer term mindset...

Don't discount video because it doesn't make sense today. If it wound up being $50 more to go with the Zen and have video too, then I'd definitely go that route.

You never know, you may love having video along if you try it. Even just a couple bumpy plane rides here and there better spent passing the time watching your favorite show than drinking bloody mary's will make the difference well worth it.

It will also impact resale value since the future will put the squeeeeeze on "just" MP3 players more and more as prices fall...

I posted my own thread about this, but you can get it for 279.99 at crutchfield.com using the following code: PA440

It says temp out of stock, but you can still order and they'll ship on a first come first served basis. Crutchfield has a 9.91 lifetime reseller rating, which is outstanding for any company.

Got mine a few days ago and it is awesome! Great sound, good looks, love the controls and the versatility. My sister has an iPod and I'll take my ZVM anyday.

Love the ZVM
by mcap56 / February 10, 2006 12:39 AM PST

This player is great!! I wouldn't hesitate if you could afford it. Just factor in the necessity of upgrading your earbuds (I have etymotic) an getting a case. One of the areas where ipods really shine - navigation and menus.......is really good on the ZVM.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
