creative soundblaster audigy 4 detection and installation

i have windows xp2 professional..with an athlon processor..everything was beautiful two days ago ive had my soundblaster audigy4 card for about six months and its been fine..
two days ago i paid 29 dollars for driverguide to scan my system and recommend updates on my components.. well it ended up messing everything up.. i had to painstakingly ressurrect the original drivers for my periphreals...all but my soundcard now works again.. ive been to creative labs .. ive inserted my original creative cd for initial installation of the drivers but it wont work... ive removed my soundcard and placed it into another pci slot.. and same thing .. the system detects it as a multimedia audio controller..and i insert my creative cd but it fails to find the driver for it... any ideas?
