Creative Sound Blaster Wireless Music: ad-hoc network

Feb 13, 2005 4:43AM PST

I have Creative's Sound Blaster Wireless Music but am unable to get it working.

Not having an existing wireless network, I opted for an Asus WL-138G PCI wireless adapter assuming itcould communicate with the SB Wireless music without a router/access point. Unfortunately they have not done so far. Each seems to be searching for an already existing network.

I understand that I am trying to set up an 'ad-hoc' network. I have enabled this option on the adapter settings and checked SSID settings are the same. Still, neither unit can detect the other after scans.

Is it possible that my PCI wireless adapter does not support ad-hoc? I've checked the manual and the Asus website with no luck. Is there a way of telling from an adapter's specification?

So basically I want to get my PC using the adapter, Asus WL-138G to stream to the Creative SB Wireless music.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks
