Creating web SHORTCUTS on desktop

by bently / April 22, 2004 11:26 PM PDT

Using WIN XP home. Mozilla 1.7b, had same problem with 1.6b,

Originally I installed SBC DSL Yahoo when I first got DSL, using their install disk.

Prior to installing YAHOO, I could drag from BOOKMARKS to Desktop and the shortcuts would work with Mozilla.

I have now uninstalled Yahoo because I did not like it, and am using Mozilla again. (which I had previously installed)

MY PROBLEM...
When I try to drag a SHORTCUT from BOOKMARKS to my DESKTOP, the shortcut icon will be installed on the desktop.

When I click on the SHORTCUT ICON, I get message... "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Pane."

* When I click on Folder Options in Control Panel, nothing happens.

I am only user on this computer.

What can I do to get my shortcuts to work again with Mozilla?

Thanks

Ben

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
