Question

Create shortcut to desktop without "shortcut to..." in name?

Oct 15, 2012 2:36AM PDT

Dear all,

(Windows XP 32 SP3 32 bit)

I frequently create shortcuts to folders on my desktop by [alt] + dragging. However, in one user account I simply get the folder name as a shortcut while in a different UA I get the extremely annoying "Shortcut to ...". Does anybody know why this is so?

Thank you!

Ruben

So do you know how to rename this?

I find folk still learning this over a decade old system. Why not rename it later?

"Why not rename it later?"

>> Because then I'll have to do each shortcut manually, which I find pretty annoying.

Thanks!

And did you research this?

I don't like the change because it only works on the one machine. In case you need help in your research I've attached a link for you.

Can I ask why you asked in a forum for such a common question? I'm not asking to upset you but to add another reason why folk don't look for the prior answers.
