Such work is just that, work. You may want to look at making a video of the photos with say IRFANVIEW then adding that to your video. But I get the feeling you don't want to.
My trick with IRFANVIEW won't give that Polaroid fade in effect but there are video editors that do that.
To do this in one go is not automatic today.
Hello, new to the video editing game. Just got back from my honeymoon. I bought a GoPro Session4 caught video and some photos with it, also have a samsung point and shoot camera that i took a bunch of photos with. My wife and I did a video diary for every day of our trip. I wanted to create mini episodes with the photos and videos from that day. With the idea that they would be short and sweet as not to bore anyone. With the not boring anyone in mind i don't want to just create a slide show of the photos and videos.
My question is what video editing software would help me to best achieve this? I have the gopro studio which is great for the videos, but the photos just become a slide show and is very time consuming to put in. Maybe theres a template that i can add photos in one shot. Go to the 1:00 mark of this video for an example.

I figured i can make a video like that with the photos and add it to the GoPro Studio afterward.
While im at it is there a way i can extract the audio from my video diary to overlap with the photos and videos?
Thanks, sorry for the long post.
p.s. hoping to keep the 1080p quality and as im a newbie not looking for a crazy expensive program, free is always nice.
