Cracked LCD screen

Jul 22, 2016 6:23PM PDT

Purchased a 55 inch LC smart TV at Best Buy in Cincinnati on the way out the door they open the box and looked down inside with a flash light said it was good.
I get home open it up no visible damage plug it in and the right side of screen has lines threw it and looks cracked. Returned it to store next morning when they opened and manager said they would not return it they checked it with flash light before I left. How could looking at the TV with flash light tell if LCD screen inside was cracked??
I guess any time you buy a tv now you have to have them plug it in and turn it on for you to prove its ok.
