CPU Upgrade

Jul 14, 2009 9:55AM PDT

I have an Acer Notebook called Aspire 5572ANWXMi of 5570 Series and it is assembled with a motherboard which has a Core Duo Processor (1.73Ghz, 533MHz) on socket 479 mpga (shown by cpu-z), an Intel GMA950 integrated graphic. Its chipset is 945GM. The current CPU is for Socket M so will socket M's Core 2 Duo CPUs be compatible with my Notebook?

The Core 2 Duo is definitely not supported. I supplied the intel.com link so we would not waste any posts about that.

Which hub?
Jul 14, 2009 1:19PM PDT

82801GHM I/O Controller Hub 7 (ICH7MDH)
82801GBM I/O Controller Hub (ICH7M)

It's up to you to decipher which you have.
