Resolved Question

CPU temperatures too high

Apr 27, 2015 2:22AM PDT

My CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5700 @3.00 GHz
Few days ago, I checked my CPU temperatures, they were 70-80 C, so I thought of changing my thermal paste, which was actually pretty dry since it wasn't changed for 5 years. When I changed, I checked my temperatures again, and they were increased, idle was 100 C. I didn't even want to test the full load. I have no overclock. Help anyone?

The problem was with the heatsink, it wasn't connected correctly, now the temperatures are normal again.

It's always good to double check, often as in this case, it pays off. Have fun!

Answer
did you get all the old paste off first?

Might need to reapply the paste, maybe didn't get enough on there this time.

Yes, I removed all the old paste from it, using isopropyl alcohol 99% and a microfiber cloth.
