CPU COMPATIBILITY

Hi all,
I currently have the m2n-sli delux mobo and i was thinking of upgrading my cpu from the Amd Athlon 64 dual core 3 ghz (which is an am2)to a Amd Phenom 2 940 quad core 3 ghz(which is an am2+), my question is, Is this mobo compatible for this cpu or do i have upgrade my mobo (which i don't want to at this stage).

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Support website too

Besides the manual the support website will give the latest info on any cpu upgrade path. Beware, it may require a bios update to support any newer cpus added. Once, you review the possible cpu listings and/or bios updates it could be done, otherwise you're stuck having to get new mtrbd. to proceed, you have found a limit.
