Question

Cpu and motherboard pairing please help

Apr 16, 2015 5:29AM PDT

Will these two work together?

MSI ATX DDR3 2133 Motherboard 970 GAMING

AMD FD8350FRHKBOX FX-8350 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition

Also would a 750w psu be good enough for gaming?

The motherboard manual should contain a list of compatible CPU's. Did you check it?

advice on.

Re the PSU....depends on what peripherals you're putting in the system....especially GPU(s), HDDs, optical drives, RAM. Add to that not all 750W PSUs are the same and there's a lot of junk out there.

The PSU is the rare QUAD RAIL +12V models.

With 20 Amp +12V rails it may be too hard on a new builder to not overload a rail. I'd change that.

I don't even know what you mean by that.. Can you tell I'm new to this? Please clarify in a way I could understand.

Look at the PSU specs.

There are four +12V supplies on the sticker. 20A each. Since you are new to this you won't know how to avoid overload one of those.

Try again but try for a single rail (all the PSUs announce such if they have it) or something like a dual rail 40A +12V to stay out of trouble.
