Couple of Navigatoinal Questions.

Nov 12, 2006 12:45PM PST

Could someone help me with a couple of tips, which I can't seem to find in FAQ Please. When I text a new post,if I wish to use a smiley,or would like to change a word to bold,is there a quick way to do this.Haven't a clue where to source from.I can't see the symbols on the texting page. Thanks in advance.
I can't help it, if I am the only "blind old fart" on this forum.(LOL)

Formatting...

I guess the easiest way if the FAQs page is not rendering properly (it's currently 'under construction' by the way) is to have you click here for a guide to the formatting guide and here for the smilies. Just note that right now if you want to use a smiley you must leave a space before and after for it to turn from text to the image.

Hope this helps,
John

Used to be a problem...

In the 'old' forums if someone typed (CHappy in reference to the C:\ drive on their computer it would be displayed as (C Happy . The happy face would distort what the poster was trying to say, though it made it more fun to read. Now the emoticons (smilies) are only created out of plain text if they are preceded and succeeded by a space, removing the previous issue. It's better the way it is now but may take a few of us a little time to get used to.
