Let's say your refresh rate is 60 Hz. Your FPS could top out at 60. There's little reason to push the Hz and FPS much past 70... But if you get into a room of rabid gamers, you'll soon be trying for 120 FPS.

When playing cs, my fps are about 40-60... I was just wondering what I could do to up my fps. I have a Radeon 9600 pro 128mb. I was using a geforce2 400 before I got the radeon, and the fps were running the same. I thought with buying a card thats alot better, my fps would go up.. But it seems to be the same as the old gefoce... My pc specs are: P4 2.0ghz, 512 ddr ram.. 80gb hdd... IE6.. Windows XP Home.. Xaser lll case.
Thanks!
