General discussion

Costco PFP-42A3

with 2 component video input sets, I figured I could get by with only 1 HDMI(upconverted progressive scan DVD). Yet what I discovered is that the audio output via monitor or optical out is NOT present for component video selections. So how do you enjoy surround sound with no audio input to the surround sound system???
Also waiting for the Denon AVR3805, which provides S-VID, 7in/3out, and component video, 3in/1out. Possibly use this for all inputs and then "monitor out" to the Pioneer component input.

And "PC not compatible" is what the manual says, anybody have a work around with a DVI-HDMI connection?

Note: If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem.
You didn't give a lot of info here, you may still have to run a optical line to your reciver. John

Optical cable did not make any difference.

I tried both RCA cable and optical cables from the monitor out panel, to get sound into my home theatre receiver, while watching Cable HDTV with the component, 5 lead hookup. No sound comes out of the PFP-42A3 Pioneer.
Only time I get sound out is when the input is Digital TV, from an external antenna. I am not using the S-VID connections, so not sure about sound output from them. (component hookup better, HDMI best)

Anyone had similar experiences?
