Corrupt File message in AWC (Advanced Windows Care) Set-up

Apr 4, 2008 12:43AM PDT

I downloaded the AWC freeware from Software-Download.com to my desktop. When I clicked the AWC icon, it said that the setup files were corrupted and to get a new copy. Has anyone ever had this problem?? I am using Windows XP, SP2, IE6 version. My computer is a Dell Dimension 2100. Thank you! Beverly

Usually I discover a download accelerator. We uninstall that and download it again.

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you are saying. Where do you discover the download accelerator from? I don't have an accelerator on my ISP if that's what you might mean. I'm not a computer tech by any means. Would you mind explaining this just a bit further?? Thanks! Bev

I can't know this.

But here's a common DAP -> http://www.download.com/Download-Accelerator-Plus/3000-2071_4-10037157.html

I never suggest such and uninstall them when found. Sorry but you should try another download of it (you didn't tell if you did) or get someone to put it on CD/memory stick for you if it fails. If all downloads fail (not just this) then that's not shared in your post so I won't think of the other issues.

Hi Bob - I clicked on the link you sent and downloaded the accelerator. I was then able to download the AWC that I wanted in the first place. It went thru perfectly!! Now, I'm going to see what it can do. Thanks again! Bev
