correct idle speed?

Nov 14, 2008 4:46AM PST

1997 JGC, 215+K miles. What is the correct idle speed? I know most vehicles idle around 700-800 RPM. I have never noticed in my Jeep until now. I have had the same stalling problems that everybody else has. I have replaced the entire ignition system except for the cam sensor, ignition coil and map sensor. This includes the PCM. My stalling is fixed, I think, but it idles really low, around 300-400 RPMs. Idles fine while cold, when it gets to operating temp, RPMs drop. If I put it in Drive, they drop lower and truck wants to stall. I have watched the needle at red lights and it bounces. So I quit driving it because I'm scared it's gonna stall on me...Any suggestions? Is there any trick that anyone knows about maybe to reset the computer? (press gas to floor 5 times with key on)
