Correct forum to post questions about corded phones?

by Big Steve / January 13, 2007 8:20 AM PST

I noticed a forum listed for cell phones but none for corded phones. I'm searching for a no frills big button telephone for an 87 year old lady who lives in a high rise retirement home.

Today's cordless phones seem to be too complicated for this lady to use. Can anyone recommend a good brand of corded phone for an 87 year old senior who is hearing as well as visually impaired? A phone with a loud volume control; a loud ringer control; and also have large buttons on the phone's keypad?

Thanks for that link on Ebay. I sent the seller a question.

I clicked on your link and the picture of the table top corded touch tone phone that's displayed on that website is exactly what I'm looking for.

I was in the bidding with another person on Ebay for a similar phone which the seller claimed to be brand new; photos on Ebay showed the phone packed nicely in the original ATT/Lucent Technologies box; the seller had a 99.9% rating.

I was in the winning to get the phone for $14.50 + $9.00 shipping but I was prepared to pay no more than $20.00 for it but in the last 30 seconds of the bidding another Ebayer submitted a last minute bid and got the phone for $20.50 + $9.00 shipping; that made me sick. It happened so fast I thought I was going to win the bid because nobody else had submitted any other bids in more than 2 days besides me.

About 10 minutes after the bidding had ended I received an official looking email labeled from Ebay entitled "Second Chance Offer" offering me the chance to go ahead and purchase the phone due to the winning bidder's transaction not being approved; I decided to forward the official looking email to Ebay's security department to see if it was a legitimate email or a spoof. It probably was a fake. Thanks for your post.
