Here's a (very) long read from Science News magazine. An hour after I read it I saw some reportage on the outbreak and this article illuminated a point in it.

So, not to be insensitive or anything but here is what i have noticed. I feel the media has created much panic over the corona virus. Surely it is a concern, lives are valuable. But what is not being addressed is the fact that a regular cold/flu has proven to be more fatal then the corona virus, and regular precautionary measures used for a flu can also be used for the virus.
Moreover, the virus has only proved to be fatal mostly for those aged 70+. Reason being with age, the immune system deteriorates.
