There are other parts that don't like heat. HDDs for example and the GPU chip.
http://ark.intel.com/products/49024/Intel-Core-i7-740QM-Processor-6M-cache-1_73-GHz notes a 45W CPU but no temp range (unless I missed it.)
This CPU's range is wide. "Minimum/Maximum operating temperature ? 0°C - 100°C"
It does have throttling to keep the CPU from melting down so 100C is going to have folk write it's hot!
What is the highest core temperature considered to be safe in all-in-one desktop computers, such as my HP TouchSmart 600-1390, which model is known for "running hot"?
