CopyTrans Contact bug for iPhone notes backup

Jul 24, 2016 8:34AM PDT

Just to put the word out - CopyTrans Contact apparently used to work for backing up iPhone notes to PC, but it's not functional for that purpose currently. It'll make folders with all your notes topics on your pc, but the folders are all empty. And it flat doesn't work at all to export notes to Outlook 16. I've sent an email to WindSolutions. Will post here if they give a useful response.

Backup so far for me
Aug 6, 2016 10:59AM PDT

Has been iTunes. I don't duplicate the web about iTunes use, backup and restore because apple has articles on features and use.

So for my backup, iTunes.

useful response & fast

Windsolutions got right back to me when I emailed them about the issue above. The rep suggested that I be sure I was using the most current version. Indeed I the link I'd used took me to an older version. I still couldn't get the new version to backup my iPhone notes to Outlook, but it did back up to the subdirectory that I requested. Note that the backup (in new, logically named-by-program subdirectory) will have empty folders named with each of your notes pages' names. However, it will then have separate files with each of the notes pages' names & those hold the backups. I saved to html. The files had no returns, so each line ran into the next. Easy enough to parse out & I am/was so desperate for ANYthing to back up my notes that I don't mind. From reading other reviews, it appears that Contacts back-ups are a lot nicer looking than the notes backups, but I can't speak to that.
