WMP is not a proper DVD player. Many DVDs come with a player so you can watch them. Try powerdvd, windvd or "a proper DVD" software.
I know of no cure for WMP.
Bob
I recently purchased the DVD Anatomie/Anatomy (new, from Amazon), and was able to play it on a stand-alone DVD player. The movie is in German, but this is the US/Canada Region 1 version. The DVD player stopped working (separate issue), so I'm trying to play the DVD on my computer.
Upon attempting to load it in Mindows Media Player 10, I receive the error message "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occurred with digital copyright protection." I don't understand this or how to fix it, as this is a legitimate DVD and has not been scratched or otherwise damaged.I played another DVD (Man on Fire) on my computer a few days ago without a hitch.
I went through the Windows troubleshooter, but after verifying that all my software is up-to-date, it told me to find help elsewhere. Is there a special plug-in required to play foreign DVDs (even though it is Region 1)? Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks,
John
