Samsung and other smart TVs have pretty terrible implementations of video players. The encoding is all over the map and no SmartTV to date will take the usual ISO file and play it correctly.
I gave up on the TV and now use an older laptop (2009 Sony Vaio to be exact) with the usual 2TB USB dirve and then play them from there. I added a Logitech K400 Plus for the control.
For the DVDs I used DVDFAB to make the ISOs and VLC Player plays these just like the real DVD player did.
I would have thought this would be the easiest thing in the world but perhaps I really am that stupid. I want to copy my DVD's on to some kind of hard drive storage unit, to then plug this into my smart samsung TV.
I currently have a 1TB G-drive for my Mac which i have tried to use but to no avail.
Then when i google soultions i get more and more lost, with file formats usb solutions etc.
Can some one please give this true idiot and really simple idiots guide of what I need and how to do it. I will be truely grateful.
