Copying home made DVD from Sony DVD Recorder

Sep 23, 2005 10:58PM PDT

I've recently copied a home made VHS tape to DVD which works fine. I've marked out all the chapters etc, I've finalised the disc (DVD-RW) which is fine and it plays on my PC. However when I try and copy it using my usual DVD software(CloneDVD) it says "Unable to read files from F:/VIDEO_TS but the the disc plays fine using Cyberlink PowerDVD on my PC.

The DVD recorder has labelled the disc "CIRRUS_DVDVR_RECORDER_VOLUME". Is this a usual problem or is there a way around this??

(NT) (NT) Reburn it to DVD-R using your authoring software.

What I use.

DVDSHRINK is what I use to duplicate my work since it also corrects some errors along the way. Try that since it's free and be sure to put it on DVD-R or DVD+R to find out what media your DVD player likes best.

Hey
Sep 26, 2005 3:35AM PDT

I've just tried using DVDSHRINK but that gives me the same error as CloneDVD. On the actual disc that was created by my Sony DVD Recorder, I have a folder called DVD-RTAV and inside that there are 3 files:

VR_MANGR.BUP
VR_MANGR.IFO
VR_MOVIE.VFP

I don't have anywhere on the disc a file called VIDEO_TS which is what most software seems to look for in order to copy the DVD. However without this file the disc plays fine on my PC.

Now a demo.

Look at the demos from Ulead.com to see if they understand that DVD.
