Question

Copying files from ipod to hard drive

May 31, 2012 8:26AM PDT

Just looking for some quick advise. I have 10000 songs on my ipod which is a little old now and I am transferring them onto a buffalo hard drive so that I can then put them onto my new WD TV live hub. Anyway the problem is this, the transfer was going swimmingly but is getting stuck about 1000 songs in. I presumed maybe there was a corrupt file or something in there so I deleted the one it got stuck at and started again but it has again got suck. Im using a programme called imacsoft to copy the files from the ipod. Is there any way around this? I partitioned and reformatted the hard drive in order to get the WD thing to pick it up which is why I now need to get the music off the ipod and onto the hard drive!

Just as a matter of interest, why can't you use the originals in iTunes to achieve this

OR

why can't you use your backup of the 10000 songs to move them onto the buffalo?

Have your tried moving the tracks at a slower pace? Like only transferring 900 at a time?

Is there a limit to the number of tracks that iMacsoft can move in one go? Their site has a very poor reputation, according to WOT.

I will try and transfer less, that may be the answer. They are not on itunes as my mac ran out of disc space to save them all so i originally moved the itunes library onto the hard drive but then had to reformat it to get the wd player to read it!!

The imacsoft has been fine up to now, ill let you know how i go in smalled batches!
