Question

copy video files from Samsung DVD-HR775 to PC

Jan 6, 2015 1:01AM PST

I would like to copy video files from my old Samsung DVD-recorder (DVD-HR775) to a PC or any external HD. On the DVD-recorder HDD have been stored a lot of family videos, converted from VHS, and the originals do not exist any more.
Does anyone have an idea or suggestion how technically these files could be copied or backuped?

In my DVD HDD recorder the only supported export is to use video capture methods or dub to DVD then rip as above. This may infuriate folk that expected modern methods.

If you want, share a link to the product manual for folk to see if it's there. So far, not one has had such a feature.

Can you copy them from the HDD to a DVD? Then you can copy or rip the DVD to your PC.

Thanks Kees, I could do that but as there are a lot of video files which have to be copied, I am looking for a possible direct copying method.
