Use My Computer or Windows Explorer to drag and drop the files from the disk to your internal drive. Details might depend on what exactly is on your homemade DVD, but since you don't tell anything about that, nothing more can be said.

Used Converter

I made DVD's with a menu at the beginning and I found that using a converter accomplished what I wanted to do.

Thanks

Converting isn't copying.

Answer
Yes there are different ways of handling this,

It depends on the video format it's on and and the dvd format itself. So it could be as simple as Kees suggested...or a little more involve. So try it, it might just be "copy and paste".

Handbrake

Aiming at this home-made DVD without any copy protection, you can get a free DVD ripper, like Handbrake to copy them to computer. As an open source video transcoder, Handbrake has capable of ripping unprotected DVDs to MP4 and MKV for saving and playing on computer and other devices.

Step 1: Insert DVD to Handbrake

Cliick "Source" button on HandBrake and tap your DVD drive. Then, HandBrake will begin scanning the DVD titles immediately and select the main title for you spontaneously.

Step 2: Select output format and folder

In “Container”, you can choose MP4 or MKV as the output format on your computer. Then click "Browse" to choose which computer folder you want to save the ripped DVD video to.

Step 3: Begin the DVD backup process

Hit the green "Start" button located beside "Source" button to begin copying and saving DVD to your computer hard drive.

Handbrake can’t solve protected DVD, so for copying commercial DVD to computer with Windows and Mac, we need Handbrake alternative.
