Question

Copy files from friend's ipod to another ipod

Jul 12, 2012 12:14AM PDT

A friend has an ipod and she asked me to move songs from it over to her husband's ipod. I simply can't figure this out in iTunes. I have tried multiple things, but to no avail. Can someone help me?

Clarification Request
When I go to "synch", warning that all songs will be erased
Jul 12, 2012 9:08PM PDT

Not very user-friendly. How can I synch this new ipod without erasing the entire contents when I move the songs to iTunes. Thanks.

Why would that be unfriendly?

Since we have our tracks in iTunes and we have marked what we want to sync, shouldn't iTunes clean off the pod to create what we wanted?

Songs not on iTunes
Jul 13, 2012 4:17AM PDT

Sadly, I think iTunes is the most unfriendly piece of software that I have ever used. I'm sure it's me.

I simply can't get the iPod to "talk" with iTunes. The songs are on the iPod, not on the computer.

All I want to do is move them from the iPod to the computer and I simply can't get them to communicate.

Now we can tackle that. Here's the title to fix that.

Go get iRip.

Now you have your songs in iTunes.

-> There was never a need for iRip since the songs had to be in iTunes for us to get them to the iPod in the first place. I can only guess why you would call this unfriendly.
